I do have a favorite hill in the Rockies so far...I LOVE mount Spalding. Its always gorgeous and I have completed this hike 5 times this year to day. The last time was beautiful but I was nervous. On the hike prior a rainstorm moved in faster than we anticipated  and you could FEEL the electric charge in the air. You could HEAR it in the rocks and the occasional static release when you touch a rock. It was cool when everyone in the group and those coming down from summit suddenly had STATIC HAIR...however this was until I felt electricity building in my body, I desperately touched the rocks all round me to release the charge...nothing was happening, at least that was until I saw a spark, crack and felt my body tingle. I'll admit I screamed, tossed my metal hiking pole and booked it like a wild bat out of hell! The reset of my group ensured me they would be fine and to take care of me. I have never moved so fast down a mountain (and its not safe as you can easily roll an ankle, fall or trip however I have completed this hike enough I was comfortable with sprinting down it).  I was fine, just shaken up and the tingling sensation on my left side (pole hand)
